Our shared reading book will be "Beetles".  Our read aloud is "There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly".  We are learning about poetry.  We are also learning about word parts (ar, er, ir, or, and ur).  We are learning how to read independently and with a partner. We are learning about poetry in Reader's Workshop.  Avid readers:  read a lot; find places everywhere to read; can't stop reading; keep a stack of books in waiting; and really pay attention to the book.  We are learning to write Poems in Writer's Workshop.
